Watching a system over South TX that currently has a medium chance (60%) of tropical development. No direct (key word) concerns for us, but “fringe” effects are on the table later this week: heavy rain, severe weather, high rip current risk. Stay tuned.
This serves as a reminder that hurricane season is in progress, so stay vigilant, have a plan, and be prepared to take action, if necessary.
The next Tropical Weather Outlook is at 2PM EDT/1PM CDT. However, if the National Hurricane Center finds that there is a high enough chance for development and a threat to land, then advisories may be issued sooner or in between the standard 6-hourly outlooks (8AM, 2PM, 8PM, 2AM EDT).
