Kenneth Alexander Fleming passed away at home on June 26 accompanied by his longtime companion Elsie Myrick and his little buddy Dakota. He had a lot of company in his final days and knew he was loved by so many.
He is survived by his sister Kathryn Dorminy and sons Charles Kevin (Julie) and Kenneth Kyle (Gretchen). He also leaves on the earth three grandchildren, Bryce, Grace and Christian, and five great-grandchildren.
Ken was born December 8, 1932 in Early County Georgia to Luther Vaughan and Verdie Watson Fleming. Growing up in the deep south during the Great Depression taught him to be tough.
Ken had a number of pursuits in life, selling automobiles, station agent for Southern Airways and worked for many years as a rural carrier for the then US Post Office Department and later Postal Service. He became a successful entrepreneur later in life involved in motels, fast food and real estate.
He enjoyed playing golf and billiards, riding motorcycles and hunting turkeys, but his passion was bream fishing. After retirement Ken spent most days on the water in search of shellcrackers, red breast, and most anything that would take a hook.
