Greta Annette Lawrence, age 92 of Panama City, Florida went home to Jesus Christ her Savior on Wednesday, July 22, 2026. She died peacefully in her home. She had lived many years in Chipley, Florida.
Greta was born on May 11, 1934 in Donaldsonville, Georgia to the late Ewart Justice and Ollie (Grant) Justice.
Along with her parents, Greta is preceded in death by her husband, BL Lawrence, one brother, Buddy Justice, two sisters, Mamie Justice and Eva Grill. She is survived by her four children, Bruce Lawrence and wife June, James Lawrence, Michael Lawrence and wife Linda, Wanda and husband Michael King, 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Greta Lawrence also had two stepdaughters and stepsons Dr. Samuel Ward, Tillman Ward.
Most say, she was a strong, grand-lady. Greta ran Pier 98 Convenience Store and Marina in Parker Florida until age 88. Before that, she was co-owner of a trucking company in Central Florida. She shared her wealth and home with those in need. Greta had multiple cancers/treatments and survived them all. She enjoyed working with the public, freshwater and saltwater views. She loved fresh flowers and gardening.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. at Brown Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 1:00 P.M. Interment will be held at Piney Grove Cemetery in Chipley. Reverend Adam Reynolds will be officiating the services.
