The Bay County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division has arrested a Panama City man following an Internet Crimes Against Children investigation.
The investigation began after a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that identified 68-year-old John Kolmetz as being involved in uploading child sexual abuse material to the internet.
BCSO CID Investigators worked to establish probable cause for a search warrant at Kolmetz’ residence. The search warrant was executed at Kolmetz’ residence on Friday, July 31, 2026, where investigators seized Kolmetz’ electronics.
As a result of the investigation, Kolmetz was arrested and charged with 20 counts of Promoting the Sexual Performance of a Child and 1 count of Possession of Pornographic Images of an Animal and Person.
