Traffic Stop Leads to Arrests and Seizure of Firearm, Narcotics
On March 28, 2025, Holmes County Sheriff’s Office deputies conducted a traffic stop on McGee Road on a vehicle driven by Laurence Stella. During the stop, K9 Timex was deployed and alerted to the presence of narcotics.
Stella informed deputies that he had ingested fentanyl, prompting EMS to respond and assess his condition. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed:
A loaded Glock pistol on the driver’s side floorboard.
A pill bottle containing amphetamine pills in the driver’s door.
A plastic bag of marijuana in the rear seat.
Additionally, a passenger, Jaxx High, was found in possession of THC edibles in his luggage. Further investigation revealed that Stella had active warrants out of Tennessee and High was out on bond on a homicide charge out of Memphis.
Both individuals were arrested and charged as follows:
Laurence Stella: outstanding warrant (Tennessee), Possession of a controlled substance, and Felon in possession of a firearm
Jaxx High:
Possession of marijuana over 20 grams
