A traffic stop early Thursday morning resulted in the arrest of a Riverview, Florida man on multiple charges.
At approximately 5:10 a.m., deputies with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the driver.
During the investigation, deputies determined that 42-year-old Monico Carmona was operating the vehicle while his driver’s license was suspended or revoked.
Carmona requested that deputies retrieve a bag from inside the vehicle. During a subsequent search, deputies discovered items believed to be illegal drugs inside the bag.
Carmona was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail. He faces charges of Driving While License Suspended or Revoked and two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance Without a Prescription.
