Drivers will encounter traffic disruptions on the following state roads in the Central Panhandle area as crews perform construction and maintenance activities.
Bay County:
- DuPont Bridge Replacement Project– U.S. 98 eastbound drivers will encounter an intermittent outside (right) lane closure between Oak Shore Drive and the DuPont Bridge, Monday, April 28 through Friday, May 2, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Crews will be removing the concrete curb in this area.
- State Road (S.R.) 390 Widening from 23rd Street to Baldwin Road – Drivers may experience brief and intermittent delays on S.R. 390, between Frankford Avenue and 23rd Street, Monday, April 28 through Friday, May 2 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Construction crews will be applying final pavement markings.
- S.R. 390 Bridge over Mill Bayou – S.R. 390 drivers may experience brief travel delays near the Mill Bayou Bridge Sunday, April 27 through Saturday, May 3. Crews will be delivering materials needed for the reconstruction of the bridge.
- U.S. 231 Resurfacing from County Road 2301 to North Campflowers Road – Drivers will encounter intermittent nighttime north and southbound lane closures Sunday, April 27 through Thursday, May 1 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for paving operations.
- Gulf Coast Parkway Construction from U.S. 98 (Tyndall Parkway) to Star Avenue – U.S. 98 (Tyndall Parkway) drivers may encounter intermittent daytime and nighttime lane closures on U.S. 98 (Tyndall Parkway) from 11th Street to Tram Road, and on Star Avenue from north of S.R. 22 to Tram Road, beginning Sunday, April 27 through Sunday, May 4. The lane closure is necessary for crews to perform drainage structure, sidewalk, and curb and gutter installation and to allow oversized equipment to access the S.R. 370 (Gulf Coast Parkway) construction site. Advanced warning signs and traffic control devices will assist in directing motorists through the work area.
- Hutchison Boulevard Resurfacing from U.S. 98A (Front Beach Road) to U.S. 98A (Front Beach Road) – Drivers will encounter intermittent daytime and nighttime lane closures Monday, April 28 through Friday, May 2 as crews perform sidewalk, drainage, and resurfacing activities throughout the project area. Advanced warning signs and traffic control devices will assist in directing motorists through the work area.
- U.S. 98 Construction from west of Tyndall Drive-Airey Avenue to east of Louisiana Avenue – Drivers may encounter intermittent lane closures between Tyndall Drive-Airey Avenue and Louisiana Avenue through June.
- U.S. 98 (15th Street) Resurfacing from east of the 23rd Street Flyover to Jenks Avenue – Motorists will encounter the following traffic impacts:
- The U.S. 98 (15th Street) right turn lane onto the Beck Avenue outside merge lane will be closed Monday, April 28 through Sunday, May 4. The lane closure is necessary to reconstruct the 15th street right turn lane and the outside merge lane onto Beck Avenue. Drivers will still be able to access Beck Avenue at the signalized intersection.
- Motorists may encounter intermittent nighttime lane closures Monday, April 28 through Sunday, May 4 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for sidewalk and signalization activities.
Holmes County:
- S.R. 79 Routine Utility Maintenance from Nebraska Avenue to North Avenue – Motorists may encounter intermittent lane closures Monday, April 28 through Monday, May 5 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for routine utilities maintenance.
- Interstate 10 Routine Bridge Maintenance over Sandy Creek – Motorists may encounter intermittent east and westbound lane closures east of S.R. 81 Tuesday, April 29 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for routine bridge maintenance.
Jackson County:
- U.S. 90 Safety Project at S.R. 69 (Porter Avenue) Intersection – Motorists may encounter intermittent lane closures Monday, April 28 through Friday, May 2 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for construction activities.
- U.S. 90 from west of U.S. 231 (U.S. 75) to west of CSX Overpass – Motorists may encounter intermittent nighttime lane closures Monday, April 28 through Sunday, May 4 for construction activities.
Washington County:
- S.R. 77 from Bay County Line to north of Moss Hill Road – S.R. 77 northbound drivers will encounter intermittent lane closures beginning Monday, April 28 through Monday, May 5 from Moss Hill Road to Daniels Lake Drive. This lane closure is necessary for crews to complete construction activities in preparation for the final traffic configuration. Advanced warning signs, traffic control devices, and traffic flagmen will assist in directing motorists through the work area.
- S.R. 77 widening north of Rodgers Road to south of Cane Mill Road – S.R. 77 drivers will encounter alternating lane closures between Memorial Drive and Cane Mill Road in Wausau, Monday, April 28 through Friday, May 2 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Crews will be placing low-profile barrier wall.
All planned construction activities are weather dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Drivers are reminded to pay attention to the reduced speed limit when traveling through the construction area, to watch for construction equipment entering and leaving the roadway, and to use caution when driving through the work zone. Speeding fines double when workers are present.
