It is with deep sorrow and love that we announce the passing of our sister in Christ, Joann Slay, who passed away on June 2, 2025.
Joann was a faithful and dedicated elder in the Presbyterian Church, serving for many years as Clerk of Session with grace, wisdom, and steadfast commitment. Her leadership and tireless work in the life of the church were a blessing to all who served alongside her. She was also a devoted member of Presbyterian Women, actively supporting its mission and ministry throughout the years.
Joann’s presence, faith, and joyful spirit enriched our congregation in countless ways. Her legacy of service and love will continue to inspire us. She will be deeply missed by this church family and by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
We give thanks to God for Joann’s life and witness, and we hold her family and friends in our prayers during this time of loss.
The family will receive friends at the in the church sanctuary on Friday, June 6th. Visitation will begin at 2pm CT with a service following at 3pm CT
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donation be made in Joann’s memory to the First Presbyterian Church of Chipley.
