Overview:
An upper level low will begin crossing over the FL peninsula as the upper level ridge we’ve been under breaks down and lifts to the north. This will create an increase in northeasterly flow. A somewhat odd pattern for this region as storms will be moving in from the northeast to southwest. The SPC has highlighted the western half of the area in a Slight (level 2 of 5) risk and the rest of the region in a Marginal (level 1 of 5) risk for severe storms.
Thursday, there is a Marginal Risk for severe storms again in the afternoon across much of the Tri-State area. The main concern will be isolated damaging wind gusts.
Also of Note:
Temperatures on Wednesday will be hot with highs in the upper 90s and heat indices around 102-105 degrees. There may be isolated pockets along the Emerald Coast with heat indices around 108 degrees, which would meet heat advisory criteria. We will continue to monitor and determine if a heat advisory will be required.
