When Sheriff Crews took office in 2017, he vowed to maintain the safety of our community. Through his tenure he has taken a collaborative approach to response training.
Active Assailant Training is nothing new to the list of training courses we conduct but for the first time in our county Sheriff Crews has united all emergency entities together to facilitate a real-world scenario.
Today, held at Roulhac Middle School, WCSO, WCSO SWAT, Chipley PD, Chipley Fire, WC EMS, WCSO Explorers and the WC Emergency Management Division came together for this exclusive active assailant training scenario where they are experiencing response tactics, and how to respond effectively during a crisis.
These types of training prepare and empower our team to react in a critical incident.
With the merge of WC Emergency Management and WCSO, Sheriff Crews anticipates notifications to the State Warning Point to be much more efficient during an emergency.
