On June 26, HCSO deputies responded to a suspicious person on Ten Mile Rd. The suspect, later identified as Luis Torres-Aguirre, allegedly piled tree limbs under vehicles and around a back porch, poured gasoline, and barricaded a door—attempting to prevent the residents from escaping.
When deputies arrived, Torres-Aguirre fled on foot but was quickly tracked and found hiding under a trailer by K9 teams from Washington & Holmes CI. He was taken into custody with a loaded firearm in his pocket and was found to be in the country illegally.
Torres-Aguirre now faces charges including armed burglary of an occupied dwelling and felony criminal mischief. The investigation is still ongoing, and more charges could be forthcoming. An ICE hold has also been placed.
Thank you to everyone involved for the quick response that helped prevent a potential tragedy.
