Around 10:30 am, yesterday, Washington County Sheriff’s deputies observed a vehicle in the Buckhorn Blvd. area being driven by a repeat DWLSR offender.
Deputies made contact with the occupants of the vehicle. The driver, 44-year-old, Matthew Paul Stafford was detained. The passenger and registered owner of the vehicle, 43-year-old, Michelle Long Dickerson admitted to illegal items inside of the vehicle.
Dickerson retrieved the items from inside the vehicle and a subsequent search resulted in a black magnetic box containing a crystal-like substance that later field tested positive for methamphetamine and a clear smoking device in a backpack that belonged to Dickerson.
Dickerson was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail on the charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia.
Stafford was also arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail on the charge of driving while license suspended or revoked-habitual offender.
