Walton County, Florida Sheriff’s Office Arrests Jonathan Nikos Butler for Fentanyl

Posted on August 4, 2025

Walton County Sheriff’s Office VICE/Narcotics Unit arrested Jonathan Nikos Butler, now 36, of Pensacola after finding him in possession of nearly an ounce of Fentanyl and ten Xanax tablets during a criminal investigation.

Just 2 milligrams of fentanyl can be a potentially lethal dose for an average adult. That’s less than a grain of salt. Let that sink in. One ounce = 14,000 potential deaths.

Butler was charged with trafficking in fentanyl (14–28 grams) and possession of a controlled substance.

Fast forward. Butler pleads guilty. And today, he’s heading to prison for 19 years, with 15 of those mandatory. That’s not a typo. That’s time.

While not every arrest is shared on our social media or makes the news feed, that doesn’t mean justice isn’t served. Our investigators continue to work behind the scenes to keep dangerous drugs and those who traffic them off our streets.
