John White Worthington II passed to his heavenly home on August 6th, 2025. He was born of George Ithma and Annie Lee Campbell Worthington of Vernon, Florida, on June 21st, 1951.
He is preceded in death by siblings Lois Dykes, Lorine Haney, Daniel Wallace, and Jeryl Worthington as well as his son Jonah Worthington.
He is survived by his sister, George Ann Burlison, daughter Jordon May, son in law Josh May, grandchildren Wayne Worthington, Lazarus Worthington, Brantson, Bennett, and Berkley May.
Johnny was a self-sufficient and knowledgeable man who was willing to help whomever he could in time of need. Quick-witted and enjoyable to visit, he always welcomed a sit down with company. Storytelling, the outdoors, gardening, and fishing were favorite pastimes, and he loved sharing harvested bounties. Most defining, he had a heart full of passionate love for his family and was at his happiest surrounded by them, especially his grandchildren.
By no means a simple man, yet comfortable with a simplistic life, Johnny will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Many hearts are hurting in his absence. The Creek Road Community now has another void but will be filled with Johnny’s legacy of family and friends. Please pray for all heavy hearts with his passing.
A Graveside service will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 8, 2025 at Pleasant Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Jerry Davis officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Caryville, FL with Sims Funeral Home directing.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at Sims Funeral Home Chapel.
