Hurricane Erin Off East Coast of US, Minimal Impact on Mainland Expected, Invest 90 at 80% Chance of Development

Posted on August 22, 2025

Hurricane Erin is churning well off the east coast but close enough to feel the impacts, a couple of days ago this thing was a monster. Erin is now way offshore by a few hundred miles and shouldn’t cause many more effects to people.

Invest 90 (red area) is now at an 80% chance of development, but a 70% chance of development in the next 48 hours. This will become Fernand. Models aren’t doing much, however some do bring this up to hurricane strength on approach to Bermuda. If it does reach hurricane status it will be very small as is Bermuda so the chance of a direct hit is slim. Bermuda still needs to keep tabs.

The Yellow area, eh not going to do absolutely anything, back down to a 10% chace of development, think they wanted the map to look pretty.

Invest 99 (orange area) that one also kind of looks like nothing. It could develop in the next couple of days but down the line would fall apart. Wind shear looks pretty strong for it so more than likely it will just fizzle. Could it hold enough juice to hold down the line and develop later, short answer is yeah. But nothing right now we need to be concerned with.
