Invest 99L Probably Fizzling, Just 10% Chance of Development

Posted on August 25, 2025

Invest 99L is looking like it will fizzle, now down to just a 10% chance of development.

Tropical Storm Fernand is passing well to the east of Bermuda and will just remain a fish storm.

What’s after this? Well you can see not much of anything showing up on the 15 day ensembles.

It’s eerily calm as we approach the peak of the season, I’m sure a lot of you are happy for the break especially after last year.

Tropical Storm Fernand is moving harmlessly north-northeastward in the Atlantic. Winds are currently 50mph.

Invest 99L has lost a lot of the shower activity and the 925mb vorticity is not as robust. Current development chances are currently 0%.

It is the time of year to start watching frontal boundaries in the gulf and Atlantic. These features can leave energy behind that becomes tropical systems. The forecast models sometimes have difficult time sniffing out these types of tropical development. You can see the current front across the gulf and off the Atlantic seaboard on satellite and 925mb vorticity.
