Light rain showers are moving into the region this morning, mostly across AL/GA. Much of these radar returns aren’t making it to the ground yet due to drier mid-level air, but a few sites are beginning to report rain as this dry mid-level air becomes saturated from the rain falling into it from above.
This area of clouds and showers should move south and east through the day and additional showers and possibly a few thunderstorms will likely develop, especially across the Florida Big Bend and south-central Georgia, later this afternoon.
A wet weekend still appears likely. It won’t be a washout, but there will be extended periods of showers and storms, especially on Saturday.
