September 23, 2025 is the 50th anniversary of Hurricane Eloise.
This storm was the benchmark storm for our area until Michael in 2018.
The storm made landfall over South Walton with a devastating storm surge of over 12-16’ near and east of the center.
There was also 4-8” of rainfall. Winds were 90mph w/gusts to 150 mph.
