Walton County, Florida Sheriff’s Office Arrests James Johnson and Davvid Bailey for Possession of Child Abuse Materials

Posted on October 16, 2025

A father and son from Laurel Hill are arrested following an investigation into multiple cyber tips related to the possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material (CSAM).

Early in the morning on Wednesday, October 15th, investigators with the Walton County Sheriff’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at a residence on Peach Tree Street, where 24-year-old Davvid Bailey was taken into custody.

Bailey’s arrest stems from an investigation that began in January 2025, after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) forwarded three separate CyberTipline reports to the Walton County Sheriff’s Office. The tips identified social media accounts suspected of soliciting minors and possessing explicit material.

Investigators traced the online activity to Bailey’s residence through subpoenas issued to various internet service providers. During the execution of the search warrant, Bailey was present and provided information regarding his electronic devices. Multiple electronic items were seized as part of the investigation.

A forensic examination of one device revealed numerous files of child sexual abuse material from infants to children 7-years-old. Bailey was subsequently arrested and charged with 30 counts of possession of child pornography and using a two-way communication device to facilitate a felony.

During the search warrant, it was discovered Bailey’s father, James Johnson, 51, had failed to disclose a Facebook account during his court ordered sex offender registration. He was charged with failure to register as required and providing false information during registration.

Bailey and Johnson were both transported and booked into the Walton County Jail. This case remains under active investigation, and additional charges may be forthcoming.
