Joyce Ann McCroan Traynom, 89, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2025 at her home in Marianna, Florida. She was born in San Pedro, California to Charlie and Gladys Hollister McCroan.
She graduated from Pensacola High School and attended Memphis University. Joyce met and married her loving husband, Otis Traynom in Pensacola, Florida. Upon moving to Marianna, Joyce worked for 30 years at Chipola College where she was the administrative assistant to the President; including Dr. Bob Richberg, Dr. Jerry Kandzer, Dr. Dale O’Daniel and Dr. Gene Prough.
She also served in top leadership positions for the FACC (Florida Association of Community Colleges) including the state president in the year 2000. Joyce was an active member in the First United Methodist Church of Marianna and the Upper Room Sunday School Class and she also served as a Pink Lady for Jackson Hospital for 10 years.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Otis Traynom; her parents, two sons, Steve Traynom and Bob Traynom; and great granddaughter, Sylvia Hendrickson.
Joyce is survived by her sons, Richard Traynom and wife, Evelyn, and Jim Traynom and wife, Stephanie; ten grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, October 30, 2025 at the First United Methodist Church in Marianna with Reverend Dr. Nathan Attwood officiating. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of The Pines Mausoleum at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with Marianna Chapel Funeral Home directing.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. in the Wesley Center at the First United Methodist Church prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Chipola College Foundation, Inc.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Lambe Family at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home.
