A Youngstown, FL man is behind bars and facing drug related charges after a traffic stop in Washington County.
Earlier this morning deputies observed a four-wheeler exit a driveway and travel onto South Silver Lake Rd. A traffic stop was initiated a short time later as the four-wheeler turned into another driveway. Deputies made contact with the driver, 54-year-old Scott Alan Schaffrick, who was extremely nervous and stuttering his words.
While questioning, Schaffrick grabbed a backpack that was on the back of the four-wheeler and began to walk away. Schaffrick was defensive and disregarded commands from deputies and was quickly detained.
A subsequent search of the backpack resulted in deputies locating a digital scale, methamphetamine and a clear bulb smoking device.
Schaffrick was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail on the charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia and resisting an officer without violence.
