On December 4, 2025, investigators with the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) were contacted by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) and the Chipley Police Department regarding a package containing approximately 10 pounds of marijuana that had been intercepted while enroute through the mail to a residence on Highway 173 in Holmes County.
HCSO investigators obtained a search warrant to conduct a controlled delivery of the package as well as a search of the residence. An undercover operative delivered the package, which was accepted by Daquayuious Sorey. Following the delivery, HCSO and WCSO personnel executed the search warrant on the residence, where investigators located an additional approximately 5 pounds of marijuana, along with cocaine, psilocybin mushrooms, and hydrocodone.
Several firearms were also recovered, along with U.S. currency. Terry Walker was also present at the residence and was taken into custody and charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Sorey was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of psilocybin mushrooms, possession of cocaine, and possession of a firearm while in the commission of a felony.
Sheriff Tate extends his appreciation to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and the Chipley Police Department for their assistance in this operation.
