Investigators have identified and arrested a suspect in connection with the death of Donald Neece, a 33-year-old from Mobile whose body was found last week in the waters of the lower Delta near Spanish Fort.
Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) State Bureau of Investigation special agents identified the suspect as 22-year-old Zachri Frazer, who they say had recently been living in Mobile. According to ALEA, Frazer was apprehended in Marion County, Florida, after refusing to stop for police and engaging in a short pursuit in the victim’s, which had been taken from the scene.
Neece was identified as the victim of a homicide around 7:30 a.m. Jan. 29 by troopers assigned to ALEA’s Marine Patrol Division in Baldwin County. Special agents then assigned to the case determined Neece’s vehicle had been taken from the scene and thought the suspect had fled to Florida. According to ALEA, they issued a bulletin for the suspect and missing vehicle, which Marion County Sheriff’s Office deputies used to identify both.
Frazer is pending extradition to Alabama.
