Allen Eugene Byrd, 83 of Fountain, Florida Passes on May 24, 2025

Allen Eugene Byrd, 83 of Fountain, Florida went home to be with the Lord on May 24, 2025 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Allen was born on November 18, 1941, in Jonesboro, Tennessee to Alvin and Hazel Byrd. He was a devoted member of White Pond Baptist Church in Alford, Florida, and everyone who knew him would describe him as a Godly man with a servant heart. Allen loved to help anyone in need and donated to many charities. There was nothing he couldn’t do. He was a Jack of all trades and a master of nothing. Allen was loved by everyone who knew him and will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Alvin and Hazel Byrd; son-in-law: Art Morales, and granddaughter: Mandy Kimbler.

He is survived by his wife: Patsy Byrd of Fountain, Florida; son: Perry Byrd (Renee) of Maitland, Florida; daughters: Penny Hargrave (David) of Fountain, Florida and Sherry Morales of Orlando, Florida; brother: Norman Byrd of Wartburg, Tennessee; sister: Christine Smeltzer of Valparaiso, Florida; grandchildren: Jeffery Gilmore, Wayne Gilmore, Mandy Kimbler (John), and Brandi Bowser (Kyle), and Megan Byrd; great-grandchildren: Chase Gilmore, Leah Byrd, Sydney Byrd, Ezekiel Gilmore, Brooklyn Gilmore, Addison Gilmore, and Liam Bowser.

A private family service will be held at a later date. Obert Funeral Home of Chipley, Florida, will be handling arrangements.
