Ann Farmer Johnson, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2025, at the age of 93. Born on September 3, 1931, to Jesse and Madie McCoy Farmer, she grew up in Headland, AL. After graduating high school, she attended Troy State Teacher’s College in Troy, AL, earning a B.S. degree in Elementary Education.
Ann made a lasting impact on her community through her passion for teaching, dedicating 36 years to Kate Smith Elementary in Chipley, FL. She was a proud member of First Baptist Chipley and her Triple L group. For many years, Ann enjoyed singing in the church choir, teaching Sunday school, and serving on various church committees.
In retirement, Ann found joy in traveling with her Triple L group, embarking on numerous trips around the United States. One of the highlights of her travels was a memorable visit to Europe with her friend Verdell and daughter Lisa.
Ann also loved playing weekly card games with her friends for many years. Though heartbroken by the loss of her closest friends, Mickey and Verdell, she found comfort in the weekly visits from her daughter, Anealia, and son-in-law, Lane. They became her new card-playing partners and enjoyed going out to eat and attending plays together.
Ann found great joy in spending time with her beloved great-grandchildren in her later years. She was a prayer warrior for many, and her gentle smile and generous heart made her a cherished friend. Ann lived out her faith by spreading the love of Jesus with grace and kindness until the very end.
She is survived by her daughters, Anealia (Lane) Blakeslee and Lisa England; grandchildren, Brennis (Keith) Stroud, Blaine Bush, and Amanda England; great-grandchildren, Kinsley, Keely and Kylie Stroud; and a host of extended family and friends. Ann’s legacy lives on through the countless lives she touched.
A celebration of life will be held at First Baptist Chipley on April 12, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. Central Time, with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m.
Donations in Ann’s memory can be made to the Gideons International.
