Bay County Sheriff’s Office announces the arrest of Luke Kirkland. On April 30th, 2025, at 9:30pm, the Bay County Sheriff’s Office responded to 15251 Pine Circle in reference to a welfare check on a female. Entry was made into the residence, and the female was found deceased in the bathroom with a single gunshot wound to her person.
Due to foul play being suspected, the Bay County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division and Crime Scene Unit were called to the scene. Multiple witnesses were interviewed and during the investigation, Luke Kirkland was determined to be the primary suspect in the case responsible for the female’s death.
It was discovered the victim was visiting Kirkland at his residence on Pine Circle when an argument ensued. Kirkland then shot the victim as a result of the argument resulting in her death. The firearm believed to be used was recovered from the residence of Kirkland’s relative. This is determined to be an isolated incident with no threat to the public.
Kirkland was located and charged with Felon in Possession of a Firearm and an open count of First-Degree Homicide. Kirkland was booked into the Bay County Jail. This is still an ongoing investigation, and more information will be released at a later date.
