On October 4, 2025, officers with the Bonifay Police Department were made aware of a pedophile sting group known as the Colorado Ped Patrol, based out of Colorado, who had traveled to Bonifay to confront an individual identified as Leonard Miragliuolo for engaging in online conversations with a person he believed to be a 13-year-old female.
Following a thorough investigation, a felony warrant was issued for Miragliuolo for Solicitation of a Minor.
It was later determined that Miragliuolo had left the area. With a known address in Maine, the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office was contacted and requested to locate and apprehend Miragliuolo on October 17, 2025. A short time later, confirmation was received that Miragliuolo had been taken into custody and is currently being held in Maine pending extradition to Florida, where he will face the charges filed against him.
This arrest was the result of cooperative efforts between the Colorado Ped Patrol, Bonifay Police Department, Holmes County Sheriff’s Office, and the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office in the State of Maine.
Chief Whitaker commended the coordinated work between agencies and emphasized the department’s continued commitment to investigating and prosecuting crimes that endanger children and the community.
