Carlton G. Padgett, 79 of Chipley, Florida Passes on December 25, 2025

Carlton G. Padgett, 79 of Chipley, Florida, went home to be with the Lord on December 25, 2025, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.

Carlton was born on July 15, 1946, to Henry and Ethel Padgett in Chipley, Florida. He was a lifelong resident of Washington County and a faithful servant of the Lord. Carlton was a dedicated member of Holmes Creek Baptist Church, where he served faithfully for many years as a deacon, Sunday School teacher, and in many other capacities, wherever he was needed. His commitment to his church and love for others were evident in all he did, through his willingness to help anyone at any time. He enjoyed blacksmithing, gardening and spending countless hours tinkering in his shop. He taught farm machinery and small engine repair for 35 years at Florida Panhandle Technical College. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Ethel Padgett, Roscoe McCormick (Stepfather), four brothers, and one sister.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years: Inga Padgett of Chipley, FL; sons: Carlton Adam Padgett (Gina) of Chipley, FL, Jared Padgett of Chipley, FL.; daughters: Tara Paprzycki (Roman) of Colorado Springs, Colorado; C. Jamin Padgett (Ian) of Blaine, Washington; grandchildren: Jonathan Thompson, Christopher Padgett, Catherine Leake, Karris Thompson, Trenton Padgett, Katelyn Slater, Alexis Paprzycki, Roman Paprzycki and 7 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at Holmes Creek Baptist Church in Chipley, Florida, with Bro. Doug Hogg officiating. Interment will follow in Glenwood Cemetery in Chipley, Florida. Obert Funeral Home of Chipley, FL in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends for visitation one hour before the service at the church.
