Carolyn Clark Roney, 85 of Graceville, Florida went home to be with her Lord on January 24, 2026 at Bonifay Nursing and Rehab Center.
Carolyn was born on November 25, 1940, in Marianna, Florida, to Judson Douglas Clark and Beulah Evans Weekes. She worked as a registered nurse for 17 years at Bay Medical Center, where she served as a charge nurse and was known for her dedication and compassion.
Carolyn loved the Lord and was a devoted member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church in Graceville, Florida. Throughout the years, she faithfully served her Lord and Savior in many capacities, including Sunday School teacher, WMU leader, choir member, Vacation Bible School missions, Soul Sisters, and visiting outreach. She also enjoyed face painting at the fall festival and sewing dresses for various mission projects.
Carolyn found great joy in painting. She painted on anything she could; canvas, dishes, cups, rocks, and more. She loved telling stories about her childhood and about life after she and Olen were married. Carolyn also enjoyed collecting elephants and caring for her flowers. A caregiver at heart, Carolyn lovingly cared for Olen’s parents and helped raise three grandchildren from the age of five until they were grown. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Judson and Beulah Clark; son: John Brady Roney; sisters: Cathrine C. Kelley, Pat Barfield.
She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years: Olen P. Roney of Graceville, Florida; son: Michael David Roney of Chipley, Florida; daughter in law: Susan Roney of Graceville, Florida; sisters: Joy C. Smith of Port St. Joe, Florida, Ruth C. Sauls of Port St. Joe, Florida, Nellie C. Schofield of Mississippi; 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren.
Service will be held 11 AM Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at Poplar Springs Baptist Church in Graceville, Florida with Rev. Russell Carlisle and Bro. Ken Adkison. Obert Funeral Home of Chipley, Florida directing.
The family will receive friends for visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers the family requested donations to be made to Poplar Springs Baptist Church. (1098 Lovewood Road Graceville, Florida 32440). The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Bonifay Nursing and Rehab for the 2½ years of exceptional care. A special thank you is also given to Doctors Memorial Hospital and Emerald Coast Hospice for their compassionate care of Carolyn as she peacefully transitioned to her Heavenly Home.
