The Chipley Police Department has arrested Steven Austin Deese on multiple drug-related charges following an ongoing investigation.
In February 2025, investigators conducted an undercover drug purchase within the city limits of Chipley. During the operation, Deese sold methamphetamine to investigators, leading to an arrest warrant being issued for him on the following charges:
• Sale of Methamphetamine (Florida State Statute 893.13.1a1)
• Use of a Two-Way Communication Device to Facilitate a Felony (Florida State Statute 934.215)
On March 10, 2025, officers spotted Deese walking near Glennwood Avenue and 7th Street. Knowing he had an active warrant, officers took him into custody.
During a search, officers found methamphetamine and marijuana in his possession.
As a result, Deese was additionally charged with:
• Possession of a Controlled Substance Without a Prescription (F.S.S. 893.13.6a)
• Possession of Marijuana (Less Than 20 Grams) (F.S.S. 893.13.6b)
• Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (F.S.S. 893.147.1)
Deese was transported to the Washington County Jail without further incident.
