Chipley Police Department officers conducted a traffic stop on a black Dodge van traveling east on US 90. The stop occurred at the Marathon gas station at the intersection of US 90 and 3rd Street.
The driver was identified as Michael Allen Thompson
On August 10, 2025, Chipley Police Department officers conducted a traffic stop on a black Dodge van traveling east on US 90. The stop occurred at the Marathon gas station at the intersection of US 90 and 3rd Street.
The driver was identified as Michael Allen Thompson.
A department-issued K9 unit was deployed and alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle.
A subsequent search revealed multiple controlled substances, including methamphetamine, 44 packs of Buprenorphine and Naloxone Sublingual Film (a Schedule III drug), 22 grams of marijuana, a THC vape pen, and drug paraphernalia.
Thompson was arrested and charged with the following:
– Possession of marijuana over 20 grams (Florida Statute 893.13.6a)
– Possession of a controlled substance without a prescription (methamphetamine, Florida Statute 893.13.6a)
– Possession of a controlled substance without a prescription (Buprenorphine and Naloxone, Florida Statute 893.13.6a)
– Possession of a controlled substance without a prescription (THC vape, Florida Statute 893.13.6a)
– Possession of drug paraphernalia (Florida Statute 893.147.1)
