Chipley, Florida Police Department Executes Multiple Search Warrants Resulting in Arrests

The Chipley Police Department successfully executed three search warrants this month as part of an ongoing investigation into illegal drug activity within our community. These efforts required extensive planning and coordination, and we want to express our sincere appreciation to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in today’s operations and to Florida Probation and Parole for their support in the first search warrant.

Late last year, we announced multiple arrests in a conspiracy case involving illegal drug activity. Two involved, Carl Hogue, and Hurtis Jackson, were apprehended this month in search warrants.

Earlier this month, we executed a search warrant on Martin Luther King Drive, leading to the arrests of Carl Adrian Hogue and Felicia Ann Nickels.

• Carl Adrian Hogue, who was on state probation, was found in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. He was charged with:

o Probation Violation (948.06)

o Possession of a Controlled Substance (893.13.6a)

o Drug Equipment Possession (893.147.1)

• Felicia Ann Nickels was found in possession of multiple controlled substances without a prescription and drug paraphernalia that tested positive for methamphetamine. She was charged with:

o Possession of a Harmful New Legend Drug Without a Prescription (499.03.1)

o Drug Equipment Possession (893.147.1)

o Three counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance Without a Prescription (893.13.6a)

This morning, we conducted two additional search warrants: one in the 600 block of Main Street and another in the 800 block of Glenwood Avenue.

At the Main Street location, officers apprehended:

• Hurtis Jackson, who had an active warrant related to the October conspiracy case, including:

o Conspiracy to Purchase Methamphetamine

o Conspiracy to Purchase Marijuana

o Use of a Two-Way Communication Device to Facilitate a Felony

Also at this location, officers encountered:

• Jayson Robert McCoy, who was found in possession of methamphetamine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia (including baggies and a scale), and a controlled substance without a prescription. McCoy is being charged with:

o Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Sell (893.13.1a1)

o Marijuana Possession Less Than 20 Grams (893.13.6b)

o Drug Equipment Possession (893.147.1)

o Possession of a Controlled Substance Without a Prescription (893.13.6a)

o Keeping a Public Nuisance Structure for Drug Activity (823.10.1)

• Heather Fleming, who was found in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Fleming is being charged with:

o Possession of a Controlled Substance Without a Prescription (893.13.6a)

o Drug Equipment Possession (893.147.1)

During the second search warrant on Glenwood Avenue, officers located:

• Victoria Mae Taylor, who was found in possession of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, a non-prescribed controlled substance, and ammunition. As a convicted felon, Taylor is prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition. Taylor is being charged with:

o Two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance Without a Prescription (893.13.6a)

o Drug Equipment Possession (893.147.1)

o Felon in Possession of Ammunition (790.23.1a)

The investigation is still ongoing and additional charges are pending.

The execution of these search warrants and the subsequent arrests highlight the Chipley Police Department’s commitment to keeping our community safe. These operations require significant effort, teamwork, and resources, and we appreciate the continued support from our law enforcement partners. We remain dedicated to holding those involved in illegal drug activity accountable and ensuring the safety of our residents.
