On January 29th, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop on Hwy 90 near the Holmes County line. Holmes County Sheriff’s Office was also present and assisted with the stop. As deputies made contact with the occupants in the vehicle, they noticed an odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.
A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in 48-year-old Christopher Dwight Ford and 35-year-old Danielle Cherie Thomas being taken into custody after several illegal items were located inside the vehicle to include approximately 2 ounces of methamphetamine. Thomas also had outstanding warrants for her arrest in Holmes County.
Both were transported to the Holmes County Jail on charges of trafficking methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance. Ford was extradited back to Washington County this morning to face his charges.
