The City of Chipley will no longer issue burn permits to citizens, it was recently announced.
Citizens are allowed to burn natural materials such as yard debris as long as the weather and smoke conditions permit and the burn pile size does not exceed 8ft. X 8ft.
If the pile size does exceed this size you will need to contact the Florida State Forestry Service for a state burn permit.
