Posted on January 30, 2025

A cold front will approach the Tri-State region on Friday with breezy Southwest winds gusting 25 to 30 mph.

A line of showers with embedded thunderstorms will cross the region from west to east during the morning and afternoon hours.

The Storm Prediction Center has a Marginal Risk (Level 1 of 5) for severe weather from Southeast Alabama into the Eastern FL Panhandle, and portions of Southwest Georgia and the FL Big Bend.

The main threats are isolated damaging wind gusts with a brief tornado or two possible.

Storms that develop are expected to weaken as they approach the I-75 corridor of GA and the Eastern FL Big Bend by Friday evening.
