Crews are working to widen a 3.5-mile segment of State Road 77, between Rogers Road and Cane Mill Road in Wausau.
In the accompanying photo, you can see concrete beams being placed for the future bridge that will cross over Reedy Creek. The beams will serve as the primary load-bearing structures, supporting the elevated roadway for vehicular traffic. Each of these pre-cast beams is approximately 61 feet long.
Beam setting is an exercise in precise coordination, combining heavy-lift equipment capabilities with the expertise of seasoned crane operators and field crews.
A reminder that the speed limit on S.R. 77 is reduced to 45 mph to accommodate construction activities. Please be alert for construction workers, vehicles, and equipment.
