David Earl Gipson stood before Judge Tim Register at the Washington County Courthouse, who handed down the sentence after hearing the facts of the case, as presented by prosecuting attorney Megan Ford.
Gipson plead guilty and received 3 consecutive life sentences for his involvement in this horrific tragedy. The charges associated were second-degree murder, and 2 counts of sexual battery-use or threaten by physical force with a deadly weapon.
In addition to the life sentences, Gipson received 5 years for the additional charges also to be served concurrent with the life sentences; aggravated battery on a person 65 years of age or older, an aggravated battery with a deadly weapon bodily harm, false imprisonment, abuse of a dead human body, and felon in possession of an electric or concealed weapon.
On April 28th, WCSO received reports that one woman was brutally attacked, another had been murdered, and the suspect was on the run. Following an investigation by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Gipson was arrested the next day and charged with the above felony charges.
Gipson remained in the Washington County Jail until sentencing and will finish out his sentence with the Department of Corrections.
