On August 1, 2025, State and local officials joined the City of DeFuniak Springs for a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the DeFuniak Springs Municipal Airport.
Chipley, Florida Mayor Tracy Andrews attended for regional support of the project.
Airport officials said the terminal is a key phase in the expansion project.
Additional plans include the widening and extension of the runway, construction of new hangars, an access road, and a taxiway.
They anticipate the project will create nearly 500 jobs over the next 10 years.
