Dothan City Schools Board of Education recognized the winners of this year’s Mike Schmitz Challenge for their outstanding achievement and dedication throughout the school year.
Students earned their way into the competition through strong attendance, academic benchmarks, and CCR/ACT readiness milestones before advancing through multiple rounds of competition.
From more than 1,000 students qualifying in the early rounds to 183 finalists competing for $25,000 in scholarships, these students demonstrated excellence in attendance, academics, and perseverance.
We are proud to once again celebrate this year’s scholarship recipients: Brody Apida – $10,000 Scholarship, Allyson Peppers – $5,000 Scholarship, Cooper Hall – $3,000 Scholarship
Along with our additional scholarship winners: Jack Johnston, Jermichael Shackleford, Jaylon Ward, Nolan Wood, Jose Pimentel Alvarez, Houston Fetsko, and Graham Davis.
