Drivers will encounter traffic disruptions on the following state roads in the Central Panhandle area as crews perform construction and maintenance activities.
Bay County:
- U.S. 98 Widening from Mandy Lane to east of Nautilus Street – Construction work will temporarily close Mandy Lane north of the U.S. 98 (Panama City Beach Parkway) intersection Monday, April 7 through Friday, April 11. Construction crews will be installing new drainage pipes beneath Mandy Lane. Drivers requiring access to Frank Brown Park may detour by turning north onto North Pier Park Drive and then west into Frank Brown Park. The closure at the Mandy Lane intersection will not impact the U.S. 98 travel lanes.
- State Road (S.R.) 390 Widening from 23rd Street to Baldwin Road – Drivers may experience brief and intermittent delays on S.R. 390, between Jackson Way and 23rd Street, Monday, April 7 through Friday, April 11 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Construction crews will be applying final pavement markings.
- S.R. 390 Bridge Replacement over Mill Bayou – Beginning Monday, April 7, Brook Forest Drive will be closed on the south side of the S.R. 390 intersection. During the closure, drivers will detour using 43rd Street and Transmitter Road to S.R. 390. The detour is scheduled to be in place through early 2026 while crews construct the new Mill Bayou Bridge.
- U.S. 231 Resurfacing from County Road 2301 to North Campflowers Road – Drivers will encounter intermittent nighttime north and southbound lane closures Sunday, April 6 through Thursday, April 10 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for paving operations.
- Gulf Coast Parkway Construction from U.S. 98 (Tyndall Parkway) to Star Avenue – Drivers may encounter intermittent daytime and nighttime lane closures on U.S. 98 (Tyndall Parkway) from 11th Street to Tram Road, and on Star Avenue from north of S.R. 22 to Tram Road, beginning Sunday, April 6 through Sunday, April 13. The lane closure is necessary for crews to perform drainage, sidewalk, and curb and gutter installation and to allow oversized equipment to access the S.R. 370 (Gulf Coast Parkway) construction site. Advanced warning signs and traffic control devices will assist in directing motorists through the work area.
- Hutchison Boulevard Resurfacing from U.S. 98A (Front Beach Road) to U.S. 98A (Front Beach Road) – Drivers will encounter intermittent daytime lane closures Monday, April 7 through Friday, April 11 as crews perform sidewalk, drainage, and resurfacing activities throughout the project area. Advanced warning signs and traffic control devices will assist in directing motorists through the work area.
- U.S. 98 Construction from west of Tyndall Drive-Airey Avenue to east of Louisiana Avenue – Drivers may encounter intermittent lane closures between Tyndall Drive-Airey Avenue and Louisiana Avenue through May.
- U.S. 98 (15th Street) Resurfacing from east of the 23rd Street Flyover to Jenks Avenue – Motorists will encounter the following traffic impacts:
o The U.S. 98 (15th Street) right turn lane onto the Beck Avenue outside merge lane will be closed Monday, April 7 through Sunday, April 13. The lane closure is necessary to reconstruct the 15th street right turn lane and the outside merge lane onto Beck Avenue. Drivers will still be able to access Beck Avenue at the signalized intersection.
o Motorists may encounter intermittent nighttime lane closures Monday, April 7 through Sunday, April 13 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for sidewalk and signalization activities.
Holmes County:
- Interstate 10 (I-10) Routine Bridge Inspection over Reedy Creek and Sandy Creek – Motorists may encounter intermittent east and westbound lane closures east of S.R. 81 Tuesday, April 8 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for routine bridge inspection.
- S.R. 79 Routine Utility Maintenance from Nebraska Avenue to North Avenue – Motorists may encounter intermittent lane closures Monday through Thursday starting Monday, April 7 through Monday, May 5 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for routine utilities maintenance.
Jackson County:
- S.R. 71 Resurfacing from U.S. 90 to North of Basswood Road – Motorists may encounter intermittent lane closures Monday, April 7 through Friday, April 11 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for paving operations.
- U.S. 90 (S.R. 10) from west of U.S. 231 (U.S. 75) to west of CSX Overpass – Motorists will encounter intermittent nighttime lane closures Monday, April 7 through Sunday, April 11 for construction activities.
- U.S. 90 Safety Project at S.R. 69 (Porter Avenue) Intersection – Motorists may encounter intermittent lane closures Monday, April 7 through Friday, April 11 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for construction operations.
- S.R. 77 Routine Underground Utilities from 6th Avenue to 2nd Avenue in Graceville – Motorists may encounter intermittent north and southbound lane closures Monday, April 7 through Friday, April 11 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for routine underground utilities maintenance.
Washington County:
- S.R. 77 from Bay County Line to north of Moss Hill Road – Motorists will encounter the following traffic impacts:
- The northbound inside (left) lane will be close to S.R. 77 northbound drivers beginning Monday, April 7 through Monday, April 14 from Carter Circle to Daniels Lake Drive.
- The southbound inside (left) lane will be close to S.R. 77 southbound drivers beginning Monday, April 7 through Monday, April 14 from Daniels Lake Drive to Hernandez Lane.
All planned construction activities are weather dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Drivers are reminded to pay attention to the reduced speed limit when traveling through the construction area, to watch for construction equipment entering and leaving the roadway, and to use caution when driving through the work zone. Speeding fines double when workers are present.
