A Flood Watch has been issued for much of the Florida Panhandle, including Jackson County, through late tonight.
– Heavy rainfall over the past 72 hours has already saturated the ground across the region
– Additional rounds of storms are expected today
– Deep tropical moisture moving in from the south will bring the potential for intense rainfall rates
– “Training” storms (storms repeatedly moving over the same areas) could quickly lead to flooding
Some areas across the Panhandle and surrounding regions have already received several inches of rain over the last few days, making flooding more likely with any additional heavy rainfall.
Please use caution:
– Never drive through flooded roadways
– Be alert for rapidly changing conditions
– Monitor trusted weather sources for updates and warnings
Remember: Turn Around, Don’t Drown.
See weather graphics to see how this affects Jackson County.
