Posted on June 6, 2025

Drivers will encounter traffic disruptions on the following state roads in the Central Florida Panhandle area as crews perform construction and maintenance activities.

Bay County:

  • U.S. 231 Resurfacing from County Road 2301 to North Campflowers Road – Drivers will encounter intermittent nighttime north and southbound lane closures Sunday, June 8 through Friday, June 13 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for paving operations.

The lane closure is necessary for crews to perform drainage structure, sidewalk, and curb and gutter installation and to allow oversized equipment to access the S.R. 370 (Gulf Coast Parkway) construction site. Advanced warning signs and traffic control devices will assist in directing motorists through the work area.
  • U.S. 98 Construction from west of Tyndall Drive-Airey Avenue to east of Louisiana Avenue – Drivers may encounter intermittent lane closures near the Tyndall Drive-Airey Avenue (main) gate at Tyndall AFB through July.
  • U.S. 98 (15th Street) Resurfacing from east of the 23rd Street Flyover to Jenks Avenue – Motorists may encounter intermittent nighttime lane closures Monday, June 9 through Sunday, June 15 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for sidewalk and signalization activities. Advanced warning signs and traffic control devices will assist in directing motorists through the work area.
  • S.R. 390 Widening from 23rd Street to Baldwin Road – Eastbound drivers on 23rd Street may experience an outside (right) lane closure, just east of Michigan Avenue, Monday, June 9 through Friday, June 13 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Construction crews will be installing foundations for new traffic signs. During the work, law enforcement officers will be in place to safely direct drivers through the work zone.
  • S.R. 390 Bridge over Mill Bayou – S.R. 390 drivers may experience brief travel delays near the Mill Bayou Bridge Sunday, June 8 through Saturday, June 14. Crews will be delivering materials needed for the reconstruction of the bridge.

Holmes County:

  • S.R. 79 Routine Utility Maintenance from east Nebraska Avenue to east North Avenue in Bonifay – Motorists may encounter intermittent lane closures Monday, June 9 through Thursday, June 26 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for routine utility maintenance.

Jackson County:

  • U.S. 90 from west of U.S. 231 to west of CSX Overpass – Motorists may encounter intermittent nighttime lane closures Monday, June 9 through Friday, June 13 for construction activities.

All planned construction activities are weather dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Drivers are reminded to pay attention to the reduced speed limit when traveling through the construction area, to watch for construction equipment entering and leaving the roadway, and to use caution when driving through the work zone. Speeding fines double when workers are present.
