Florida Legislature to Observe Moment of Silence for Washington County Administrator Jeff Massey

Today, the Florida Legislature will pause its session to honor the memory and service of Mr. Allen Jeffries “Jeff” Massey. A statewide moment of silence is scheduled to take place at 3:00 PM CST / 4:00 PM EST on February 4, 2026.

A Legacy of Service: Mr. Massey served as the County Administrator for Washington County for nine years.

For Jeff, Washington County was more than a place of work or residence; it was where his heart truly
belonged. He cared deeply for the community and its people, serving them with a profound sense of pride and dedication that left a lasting impact on the region.

The tribute will be held on the floor of the State Capitol in Tallahassee, recognizing Mr. Massey’s life and his contribution to the community. Members of the public, friends, and former colleagues are invited to join the Legislature in this moment of reflection remotely.
