At approximately 11:07 a.m. on October 21, 2025, officers from the Fort Walton Beach Police Department responded to the White-Wilson Medical Center, located at 1005 Mar Walt Drive, in reference to a report of shots fired.
Upon arrival, and with assistance from the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, officers determined that an 87-year-old male had suffered a single, self-inflicted gunshot wound. The male was quickly rendered aid and transported by Okaloosa County EMS to Fort Walton Beach Medical Center, where he is currently receiving treatment.
Investigators are continuing to review the circumstances surrounding the incident. At this time, there is no indication of any ongoing threat to the public or the medical center.
