George “Tommy” Tharp, 74 of Alford, Florida, passed from this life on February 15, 2026 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Tommy was born on April 18, 1951, in Washington County to Willie and Myrtle Tharp. He was a lifelong resident of the Florida Panhandle and enjoyed spending his time hunting and fishing. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Willie and Myrtle Tharp; sons: Vincent Hicks, Timothy Hicks; brother: Charlie Tharp.
He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years: Pearl Elizabeth Tharp of Alford, FL; son: Robert Post of Atlanta, GA; daughter: Cindy Post of Atlanta, GA; brother: Charles Douglas Tharp (Shyrl) of Elba, AL; sisters: Cathryn of Louisiana, Zelma of Illinois, Shelby of Louisiana; sister in laws: Dorothy Tharp of Cottondale, FL, Rebecca Sewell of Alford, FL; one grandchild; one great grandchild.
Memorialization will be by cremation with Obert Funeral Home and Whispering Pines Crematory in Chipley, Florida in charge of arrangements.
