On October 5, 2025, Gulf County, Florida Sheriff’s Office Investigator Hamm conducted a traffic stop that led to the arrest of 44-year-old Timothy Carson O’Bryan Jr. of Wewahitchka.
During the stop, deputies observed items being discarded from the vehicle. Deputies recovered a camouflage bag and a yellow bag containing approximately 130.6 grams of methamphetamine, digital scales, and syringes. Following a post-Miranda interview, O’Bryan admitted knowledge of the drugs and directed a passenger to discard them.
O’Bryan was arrested and charged with:
Trafficking in Methamphetamine
Tampering with Physical Evidence
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Driving While License Suspended or Revoked (2nd or Subsequent Offense)
We commend Investigator Hamm (GCSO), Sgt. Harvey (GCSO), and Sgt. Nichols (Port St. Joe Police Department) for their quick and effective actions during the traffic stop and evidence recovery, which led directly to this apprehension. This case is a clear example of the Gulf County Sheriff’s Office’s ongoing commitment to removing dangerous drugs from our community and keeping residents safe.
