Heat Advisory Issued for Florida Panhandle on Wednesday, July 30, 2025

Posted on July 30, 2025

Dangerous heat will continue through Friday.

A Heat Advisory for heat indices/apparent temperatures of 108-111F is in effect today for the entire region from 11AM to 7PM ET / 10AM to 6PM CT. Additional heat advisories will likely be needed through late week. Relief from the heat appears to come this weekend as a cold front reaches the Gulf coast.

Overview:

Highs today will range from the mid to upper 90s. The entire region is under a Heat Advisory today. In combination with high afternoon humidity values, peak heat index values of 105 to 111F are expected.

A reminder to frequently hydrate, wear light clothing, limit outdoor exposure during the heat of the day, know the signs and symptoms of heat related illnesses and seek medical attention if needed, and vulnerable populations are at higher risk for impacts from the heat.

There is a Major to Extreme Heat Risk for much of the region today. A Major Heat Risk means that the heat is dangerous to anyone who does not have proper hydration or adequate cooling with little to no nighttime relief. An Extreme Heat Risk is for long duration, extreme heat with no overnight relief affecting anyone without cooling and hydration as well as health systems, industries, and infrastructure.
