Helen Gay Nowlin, 78, of Westville, Florida, passed from this life on May 5, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Helen was born on January 14, 1948, in Alford, Florida, to Floyd Edison Gay and Ida Mae McKinney. Helen enjoyed spending her time outdoors fishing, but most of all spending time with her grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Floyd Gay and Ida McKinney; husband: Joseph Elisha Nowlin; son: Joseph Elisha Nowlin Jr.
She is survived by her sons: Wade Nowlin (Rene) of Tallahassee, Florida, Joseph Damon Nowlin (Karen) of Westville, Florida ; brothers: George Gay of Westville, Florida, Jack Steven Gay of South Carolina; sisters: Barbara Ann Williams of Chipley, Florida, Betty Sue Pruett (Johnny); grandchildren: Crystal Green, Christina Watkins; great-grandchildren: Cody Green, Aden Green, Harley Green, Mckenna Case, Elias Watkins.
Graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at Callaway Cemetery, 116 Bob Little Road, Callaway, Florida, with Bro. Shane Obert officiating. Obert Funeral Home of Chipley, Florida directing.
