Posted on July 20, 2025

Jackson County Sheriff’s Deputies were conducting proactive patrols on State Road 73 South when they observed a black Chrysler 300 traveling at excessive speeds. Deputies attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the vehicle failed to yield, and the suspect continued to flee into Calhoun County. The suspect eventually lost control of the vehicle, and it was found abandoned in a ditch with the driver’s door open.

A search of the area led to the apprehension of the suspect, who was found hiding in a nearby wood line and was arrested without further incident.

The suspect was identified as Kit Snowden of Malone, FL. Mr. Snowden has been charged with Fleeing or Attempting to Elude a Law Enforcement Officer as well as Reckless Driving.

Due to the pursuit concluding in Calhoun County, Snowden was taken into custody by the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office and transported to the Calhoun County Jail.

Sheriff Edenfield would like to thank Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in this case.
