The Holmes County Sheriff’s Office announces the arrest of James Koby Smith on charges of Grand Theft, Burglary, and Dealing in Stolen Property.
The charges stem from an April 12, 2025, call for service in which the victim reported several items stolen, including guitars, a firearm, a tactical vest, amplifiers, and speakers from their property.
Through diligent investigative work, HCSO investigators were able to locate and recover the majority of the stolen property, which had been sold to various individuals by Smith.
Smith is currently being held at the Walton County Jail on unrelated charges and is awaiting extradition back to Holmes County.
